GINISANG UPO (ILOCANO STYLE)
Hi Guys! Baldskiy here. This is my first blog and I hope you will love my first how to cooking tutorial. Today, I will teach you on how to cook 'Ginisang Upo" or Saute Bottle guard. Are you ready?
First, we need to prepare our ingredients:
- 1 Medium sized upo ( bottle gourd), peeled and sliced
- 1/4 pork belly
- 1 small onion, minced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 ginger, chopped
- 5 tablespoon of bagoong (fish sauce)
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoon cooking oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Now that we already have our ingredients. Lets start cooking!
- First, heat the cooking oil in a deep pan.
- Once, the oil and the pan is hot, saute onion, ginger and garlic until it turn golden brown.
- Add the pork belly, saute for 2-5 minutes. Make sure the meat turn to light brown.
- Sprinkle about half a teaspoon of ground black pepper.
- Add the upo
- Pour in the bagoong (fish sauce)
- Add 1/2 cup of water
- Add salt to tast
- Wait for 4-6 minutes until the vegetable and the meat is well cooked.
- Once it is cook Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Serve. Share and enjoy eating.
